  • Unit 2…
    …was a little boring, but enlightening in certain ways. Certainly reading about the scientific attitude, method, research strategies, and ploughing through the questions at the back was tedious. I suppose the tedium is inevitable, since we do need to cover the basics to go on to the more interesting sections. The hindsight bias, overconfidence, and the rest of the fallacies people are subject to interested me the most in this chapter. I’ve seen them in little children a lot, but it’s a little discomfiting to think that grown adults in positions of authority could easily make mistaken judgments. On statistics: I hate it, but I’m planning to work on it.

    AP Psych…
    …is fantastic. Okay, that’s an overstatement, but it is my favorite class. I’m never bored, I can understand most of what’s going on, and getting to voice my opinions on different subjects is very enjoyable.

    The teacher…
    …seems to be enthusiastic about his subject, certainly works hard at it (the web log, thinking of different methods of teaching), and listens to his students (asks for opinions, study methods, etc). Has a moderately pleasant speaking voice and accent (believe me, very important to student stress-levels), and seems to be a nice guy. I might be able to find something to *coughcough* female-dog about over the year, but I’ll probably get over it quickly enough if I do.

    The teacher can help me learn better by…
    …constantly reminding me about the homework. This is my biggest problem. Otherwise, you’re doing fine already.

    Overall evaluation: ★★★★★ (out of five!)
